The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Examination Section participated in the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (Cal-JAC) Firefighter Career Expo in South El Monte on Saturday, September 6.  This event hosted at the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) welcomed over 1,500 guests, including 728 prospective firefighter candidates.

Attendees met with fire department recruiters, tried out the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), learned what to expect on an entry-level firefighter written test, and found out more about the FCTC Statewide Eligibility List.

Departments in attendance displayed emergency apparatus and answered questions about career pathways available in the fire service.  Children and youth also participated in their own an age-appropriate physical ability test.

The International Association of Firefighters, Local 1014 sponsored and treated all guests to a delicious lunch.

The LACoFD congratulates Cal-JAC for this successful event and all participants for taking the next step forward in their professional goal toward becoming firefighters.
