Long Beach Medical Center Trauma Survivor’s Reunion

Long Beach Medical Center Trauma Survivor’s Reunion

Long Beach Medical Center Trauma Survivor’s Reunion 1024 682 Isidro Armenta

Patients who survived traumatic injuries were reunited with first responders, from the County of Los Angeles (LACoFD) and Long Beach Fire Departments, along with their care teams, who saved them.  The reunion was held on Saturday, September 13, at the Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital.

Trauma center leadership shared words of encouragement and appreciation to all in attendance.  LACoFD personnel including Medical Director Dr. Clayton Kazan and Assistant Fire Chief Khoi Dao shared remarks recognizing the courage of each patient and the importance of trauma care coordination.  Former trauma patient Emery Hernandez also shared her musical talent throughout the program.

Event organizers recognized two patients who survived and continue their recovery journey.  It was a great moment to see the two patients share smiles and messages of thanks to the first responders and medical staff.

The LACoFD expresses our heartfelt gratitude to the Trauma Center for the invitation to participate in this reflective event.  We also acknowledge and thank the 9-1-1 dispatchers, first responders, and medical teams for providing the gold standard of care.
