On Friday, March 8, 2024, County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Fighters Michael Dominguez and Shelby Hall, from Fire Station 32, had an opportunity to read to students at Longfellow Elementary School in the City of Azusa.

The students were thrilled to meet and hear local firefighters read their favorite books!

As part of Read Across America Week, this is a great opportunity to create and celebrate diverse readers within our communities, share our love of reading with youth, and emphasize the LACoFD’s commitment to community engagement and education.

Each year, team members join classrooms around the County to promote reading.

The LACoFD’s involvement in this nationwide initiative conveys to students that they have the resources and support to become lifelong learners.
