Members of the Department voluntarily played in a charity softball tournament on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Glorietta Park in Glendale.

Proceeds from the yearly tournament benefitted the County of Los Angeles’ 12th annual Charitable Giving Campaign.

Known as the “Flamin’ Hots”, the team was made up of Fire personnel from the Human Resources, Financial Management, and Executive Support Divisions as well as family and friends.

The Flamin’ Hots played against teams from other County departments, including Children and Family Services and Public Health.

While the team played two games, it did not win, but they did have plenty of fun and made great memories on the field!

“Everyone played with dedication and enthusiasm! We went down swinging until the last batter,” said Jose Cortez, Staff Assistant II.

The Flamin’ Hots plan to play again in the spring for another charitable County event to benefit the March of Dimes.
