On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) held a retirement open house and celebration in honor of Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby at Department headquarters which was graciously sponsored by the Los Angeles County Fire Museum.

After devoting over 38 years of service to the LACoFD, with 11 years as fire chief, Chief Osby officially hung his turnout coat and helmet to commemorate his retirement. Family, friends, and Department personnel applauded and cheered as he completed this important milestone in his career. A helicopter flyover was also arranged to mark this special occasion.

Acting Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone joined everyone in wishing Chief Osby a happy and healthy retirement as well as acknowledging his dedication to the Department and the communities of Los Angeles County.
