On Saturday, April 16, 2022, the City of Artesia hosted the annual Safety Expo and Extravaganza at Artesia Park.

Representatives from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and California Highway Patrol participated in the community event.

Many families attended and got a chance to meet the Easter bunny, enjoy great food, and meet local first responders.

Fire Station 30 gave a “Jaws of Life” demonstration while USAR 103 was on display for residents to take a closer look.

At the event, the Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Fire Fighter Specialist Roger Peterson.  While he was unable to attend, his crew accepted the award on FFS Peterson’s behalf.

Congratulations, FFS Roger Peterson on your award!
