On Friday, May 29, 2026, Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger was joined by County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien, along with local leaders and officials, to break ground on the new Fire Station 46 in Valencia.

LACoFD Fire Station 46 will be a 13,341 square-foot, fully solar building designed to meet net-zero energy goals. The spacious layout features two apparatus bays to house one engine and a paramedic squad, alongside a barn for three reserve units. It also includes dormitory quarters designed for up to ten personnel.

Scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2027, the new fire station will enhance emergency response times and accommodate future population growth in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The LACoFD extends its appreciation to every partner for their unwavering support to protect life, property, and the environment.
