On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted a graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 165 at the Cecil R. Gehr Training Center in East Los Angeles.

In front of family and friends, Recruit Class 165 graduated with 39 recruits, including six women and five military veterans.

Interim Fire Chief Anthony Marrone expressed his sincere congratulations to the graduating class as they begin their firefighting careers with the Department: “There is nothing more noble and rewarding than to wear the firefighter badge which symbolizes the rich history and legacy of this great Department as proud protectors of life, property, and the environment.”

Graduates from Recruit Class 165 began their first assignments as probationary firefighters on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
