On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) joined Fourth District County Supervisor Janice Hahn, Lawndale Mayor Robert Miles, and members of the Lawndale Rotary Club in honoring retired Battalion Chief Gerald White with a bench dedication ceremony at Fire Station 21 in the City of Lawndale.

Battalion Chief White retired from the Department in 1986 and has spent 59 years serving the community as a member of the Lawndale Rotary Club where he volunteered his time and effort to help others locally and abroad.  In the past, he has served as the Rotary Club’s president and is a major donor and bequest society member.

In recognition of his philanthropy and selflessness, a permanent bench bearing his name was installed at Fire Station 21 where he spent some of his firefighting career as a fire captain.  Fire Station 21 is also home to a plaque that commemorates the achievements of Supervisor Hahn’s late father, Kenneth Hahn, who served 45 years in public office.
