On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, County of Los Angeles Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger honored four County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) firefighters from Fire Station 19 and 63, along with four Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies (LASD), for their life-saving skills when they responded to a home fire in La Cañada Flintridge last month.
Honorees were each presented with a scroll from the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. Their teamwork and bravery earned the first responders this invaluable recognition.
Within two minutes of receiving the call at nearly 4:00 a.m. on January 30, the LASD Crescenta Valley deputies were first on the scene, rescuing a young man and a woman. Deputies worked with LACoFD firefighters who arrived moments later, facing heavy smoke and a massive house fire in progress.
“The Los Angeles County deputies and firefighters who responded that night all put their lives on the line as countless others do, every day,” said Supervisor Barger “It will be a special privilege to honor their bravery and thank them for their work in the Fifth District communities I represent.”
Congratulations and job well done!
