On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 1:20 p.m., County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) firefighters responded to a report of a commercial building fire located on East Selandia Lane in the City of Carson. Upon arrival, LACoFD firefighters found a one-story commercial building with smoke and fire showing.
Firefighters immediately initiated fire attack along with search and rescue operations. The LACoFD incident commander called for a second alarm resource assignment to assist with firefighting operations.
Knockdown was declared at 3:30 p.m. LACoFD firefighters remained on scene throughout the night for overhaul operations and fire watch.
LACoFD resources assigned to this incident included 10 engines, four quints, two paramedic squads, one hazardous materials task force, one urban search and rescue task force, one public information officer, one emergency support unit, one air/light unit, one utility unit, two safety officers, four battalion chiefs, one assistant fire chief, and one deputy fire chief.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and McCormick Ambulance also assisted on scene.
