On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony Marrone, along with several members of the Department, joined the Whittier City Council in honoring six-year-old Fabian Gomez.

The recognition ceremony for Fabian’s heroic action took place during a city council meeting.

Fabian helped his mother, Kim, by calling 9-1-1 when she was a having medical emergency.

Kim, a former dispatcher for an ambulance company, credits Fabian’s quick-thinking to his early training on how to properly use 9-1-1.

Congratulations, Fabian, on a job well done!
