On Thursday, January 2, 2020, the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Communications Center released its statistics for the last quarter of 2019.

From October through December 2019, the Department dispatched units more than 1,100 times each day.  In total, dispatchers answered more than 403,000 calls in 2019, compared to 396,000 calls for help in 2018.

Below are the statistics for incidents dispatched:

October 2019 = 34,989 

October 2018 = 33,666

October 2019 Daily Average = 1,128


November 2019 = 33,217

November 2018 = 32,309

November 2019 Daily Average = 1,107


December 2019 = 35,385 

December 2018 = 33,045

December 2019 Daily Average = 1,141

Due to rain storms and an early flu season, December was the busiest month for 2019.

Additionally, the busiest day in 2019 was Thursday, December 26, 2019, which resulted in 1,377 calls and was recorded as the fourth busiest day of all time.


Total Calls for 2019 = 403,615 

Total Calls for 2018 = 396,246
