On Thursday, December 19, 2019, students at Kwis Elementary School in Hacienda Heights were surprised with a visit from Santa Claus and Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) firefighters from Fire Station 118.  Members of the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District’s “Adopt a Family” program hosted the event to ensure underserved students received a gift this holiday season.  Many of the gifts given were bicycles and rocking horses.

Team members from Fire Station 61 in the City of Walnut also collected donations from local youth sports teams for the Spark of Love toy drive.  And for the third year in a row, Tetra Tech once again provided gifts for the Spark of Love campaign.  Firefighters from Fire Station 146 picked up the toys and sports equipment, so they could be immediately distributed to children in the community.

This year, tens of thousands of new toys and sports equipment were donated at LACoFD fire stations and dropped off at various Spark of Love events.  In all, nearly 30,000 gifts were given to families in need.

The LACoFD would like to thank everyone for generously donating to the 27th annual Spark of Love campaign and for making this year’s toy drive a success!
