On Thursday, August 15, 2024, County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) uniformed and professional staff attended the highly anticipated and sold-out 13th annual Los Angeles County Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC), chaired by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW).

Held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, in Downtown Los Angeles, the WLC afforded 1,000 attendees the opportunity for empowerment, growth, and connection.  This year’s WLC conference theme, “I’m Possible,” celebrated diversity, the power of inclusion and belonging, and the inspiring contributions of all genders.

The WLC featured welcoming remarks from Chair and Third District Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, DPW Director Mark Pestrella, along with many inspirational keynote speakers, motivational breakout session speakers, networking, and engagement opportunities with exhibitors throughout the one-day conference.

The LACoFD Executive Office would like to express its gratitude to Deputy Fire Chief Eleni Pappas, Executive Support Division Manager Heidi Oliva (Luna), and Planning Analyst Michael Blackwood for their participation in the WLC Planning Committee over this past year.  Also to be recognized are LACoFD Video Production Specialist Phil Wilford and Photographer Doug Morrison for their contributions at the WLC.

It was a great conference filled with unlimited possibilities, and the LACoFD looks forward to continued collaboration with DPW on next year’s WLC.
