National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend

County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone was joined by members of the Executive Team, Chaplain’s, Honor Guard, Pipes and Drums, the Los Angeles County Firefighter’s Memorial Committee, and IAFF Local 1014 at the 43rd Annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone was joined by members of the Executive Team, Chaplain’s, Honor Guard, Pipes and Drums, the Los Angeles County Firefighter’s Memorial Committee, and IAFF Local 1014 at the 43rd Annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Held on the weekend of May 4 and 5, 2024, this annual event included a candlelight and memorial service to honor and pay tribute to fallen first responders.

This year, 226 fire service members were added to the 2024 Roll of Honor, including eight LACoFD fallen members: Battalion Chief Mark A. Tolbert; Fire Captains William L. Knott, Manuel Ramos Jr., and Kenneth E. Renz; Fire Fighter Specialists Robert G. Brantley and Samuel C. Neubauer, and Fire Fighters Russell V. Fagen and Joey Gandara.

Families of the fallen firefighters were presented with an American flag that was flown over the NFFF Memorial and United States Capitol.
