Celebrating Pride Month 1024 682 Isidro Armenta

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) proudly celebrates Pride Month.  This month’s activities include the wearing of the LACoFD lifeguard and fire series Pride uniform patch, participation in the West Hollywood Pride Parade, and raising of the Progress Pride Flag.

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, LACoFD personnel participated in the annual West Hollywood Pride Parade to celebrate inclusion and acceptance.  With thousands in attendance, Department personnel joined alongside coworkers, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (Board), fellow County departments, community organizations, dancers, and special guests.  It was a great event celebrating diversity, love, and resilience in the heart of West Hollywood.

In solidarity with the Board alongside the LGBTQ+ Commission, the LACoFD joined fellow County departments on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, to raise the Progress Pride Flag, a symbol of love, commitment, and visibility to the LGBTQ+ community.  Held at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, the heart of County government, Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien was joined by Chief Deputy Theresa Barrera, Deputy Fire Chief Julia Kim, and members of the LACoFD Stonewall Alliance to reaffirm the County’s commitment to building a Los Angeles County where every resident is treated with the dignity they deserve.

The LACoFD proudly celebrates Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community!
