Recruit Class 170 Graduation Ceremony

On September 22, 2023, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) held a formal graduation ceremony to celebrate the members of Recruit Class 170 at the Cecil R. Gehr Memorial Combat Training Center at headquarters in East Los Angeles.

Family and friends of the recruit class were joined by Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone, the Executive team, and the Recruit Training Cadre to honor the 36 graduates’ successful completion of the 17-week LACoFD Firefighter Training Academy.

During the ceremony, Recruit Class 170 were presented with their official LACoFD firefighter badges and proudly took an oath to serve residents and communities entrusted to their care.

Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone congratulated and recognized Class 170 for their dedication to public service by saying “I am confident you will stay dedicated to your career and prideful in your service to others…you are more than a firefighter on any given shift.”

Recruit Class 170 began their first assignments as probationary firefighters the next day.
