On January 7, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) announced the promotion of Theresa Barrera as the new Deputy Fire Chief of the Administrative Services Bureau (ASB).
Chief Barrera’s responsibilities include overseeing the Department’s $1.4 billion budget and providing executive oversight of the Financial Management, Human Resources, and Materials Management Divisions.
Since joining the LACoFD as the Assistant Chief and Chief of the Financial Management Division in 2004, she has worked closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance standard business practices and ensure administrative and fiscal compliance. Prior to working at the Fire Department, Chief Barrera devoted 16 years in administrative services at the Departments of Public Social Services and Auditor-Controller.
Among her many accomplishments, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California, serves as the treasurer of the Los Angeles County Hispanic Managers Association and as a board member for the F&A Federal Credit Union.
