In response to the catastrophic Hurricane Dorian, highly skilled Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team members were deployed across the country to assist with rescue efforts. These highly specialized members work in coordination with the local government to conduct search and rescue missions and other critical operations.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, 16 members of the Department’s USAR CA-TF2 water rescue team were activated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and deployed to North Carolina.

This deployment is expected to last 10 to 14 days.
