The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) attended the 25th Annual Los Angeles Black College Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

The National College Resources Foundation, a nonprofit educational enhancement organization, hosted the event. Their goal is to provide free resources to students and families, including holistic, comprehensive intervention, mentoring, tutoring, college, and career planning, and assisting student athletes.

In line with the Foundation’s vision, to close the gap in educational achievement, workforce, and economic disparities with the goal to end racism and racial inequality, the LACoFD’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Communications Section attended the Expo to provide Hands-Only CPR, career opportunities, and public safety education to the thousands of young individuals that attended the event.

Many other County of Los Angeles, and first responder agencies attended the event along with about 200 colleges.
