The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) participated in a multi-day joint training exercise with the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) at the end of February at their new state-of-the-art training facility in Camarillo.

Crews from LACoFD Engine 89 (Agoura Hills) and Engine 144 (Westlake Village) joined VCFD Truck 35, Engine 36, and Rescue Ambulance 30 for this hands-on training. Personnel from both agencies simulated a working structure fire, including a mayday and rescue of a downed firefighter.

Joint training exercises like these are used to enhance multi-agency response capabilities by improving interoperability and joint response effectiveness, building trust and practical coordination between agencies, and sharpening skills for real incidents across jurisdictions.

The LACoFD extends our gratitude to our partners at the VCFD for this training opportunity; together we remain committed to protecting and serving our residents and communities.
